INFLUENCER PROFILE: VALERIA LIPOVETSKY
Valeria Lipovetsky is a well known content creator, model and holistic nutritionist, based in Canada. She is known for her down-to-earth, inspirational and fun personality, regularly featuring snippets from her life and family plus stories about beauty, nutrition and fashion that she publishes across her social channels including her YouTube and Instagram accounts. Valeria started modelling at the age of 16, which saw her travelling the world, and living in a few different cities such as Tokyo, Barcelona and New York. She's just celebrated her sixth wedding anniversary, and is currently expecting her third child. In the past few months we've been collaborating with Valeria, who has shared posts to her Instagram account and also her YouTube channel, with this video where she shares her top make-up tips for creating the perfect selfie. We caught up with Valeria recently, and below you can read the interview: Nude by Nature (NBN): What are your favourite Nude by Nature product(s), and why? Valeria: I have a few favourites! I love the Flawless Concealer. The finish feels really silky, and the coverage is great. Also, the Allure Defining Mascara because of how buildable it is. And, another staple is the Touch of Glow Highlight Stick because they are multi-purpose — I use them as highlighters and eyeshadows. NBN: Can you share a couple of your top beauty hacks? Valeria: Having such a tight schedule has taught me that it’s so important to focus on products that serve multiple purposes. So, using lipstick as a blush or a highlighter as eyeshadow helps to save time, (and also space when you need to travel light). NBN: What do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Canadian woman should own? Valeria: Because we have such harsh weather conditions, a foundation or tinted moisturiser that doesn’t dry the skin is a necessity. I also always recommend using rose water to refresh during the day. NBN: Have you spotted any beauty trends that you think are going to be really big in the next year? Valeria: I’ve noticed that the cat-eye trend has been featured a lot recently on the runways, except it is more of an undone, grungy cat-eye — not crisp and perfect like we’ve seen more recently in the past. NBN: How has your everyday beauty routine adapted since having children? Valeria: “Less is more” has become my mantra. A lot of people use this statement, but you don’t really implement it until you have children. I have learned how to keep only the necessities, and learned to embrace what I look like, and work with what I have rather than rely on make-up as much. NBN: You’re expecting a baby this year. Congratulations! How is your pregnancy going, especially when you have two little boys already! Valeria: I am super excited about it, but I’m not going to lie… I’m also a bit scared! Everything is going amazing so far, and it’s going by so fast because I don’t really have time to absorb it all since I have the two little guys already. But the entire family is really excited, and I’m pumped to have our own mini soccer team! NBN: Are you able to share a little about your background, how you started in terms of your career, and deciding to bring together being a nutritionist, content creator, model and lover of beauty and fashion. Valeria: I started modelling at the age of 16. I was able to travel the world and absorb so much information about beauty, fashion, lifestyle and culture. Every place I visited left an impression on me. Once I had my kids, I wanted to bring those experiences and knowledge together, which is when I started getting into content creation. This has given me the opportunity to share everything from my personal point of view in the past to what I’m seeing and learning currently. NBN: It looks like you love to travel. Can you share a few of the destinations on your travel bucket-list? Valeria: There are so many I would love to take my boys to. The number one would be Japan. I lived there for about six months when I was younger for work, and never really had the chance to explore it properly as a tourist, which is something I would love to do as a family. I would also love to go to Bali and on a safari trip in Africa. NBN: Do you have any tips when it comes to beauty products to pack when travelling? Valeria: When I travel, I focus on taking products that will work specifically for that climate. For example, If I’m going to the Caribbean I will take more sun-friendly and humidity-friendly products. If I’m going somewhere during the winter, I will be sure to have good hydrating products. I’m also a huge advocate for travel sized products! NBN: When you’re chilling out, what’s your favourite social media platform to scroll through? Valeria: Instagram and Pinterest. NBN: How about other blogs and social accounts / influencers that you follow and love? Valeria: At the moment, we are designing a new home so I’ve been following a lot of interior design accounts. Some of my favourites are Architectural Digest (@archdigest) and Domino Magazine (@dominomag). NBN: What are you looking forward to most (apart from your baby!) that you’ve got planned for the next 12 months? Valeria: I’m honestly just taking things one day at a time. I’ve learned not to look forward to anything specific, and to focus more on being present and in the moment. Apparently these pregnancy hormones are making me insightful these days! I just love to spend my time enjoying my children and appreciating little things each day. That's awesome! Thanks Valeria. INFLUENCER PROFILE: ALEX CENTOMO
Nude by Nature launched in Canada earlier this year, and we have been collaborating with a few well known Canadian influencers as part of the launch. Alex Centomo is one we've been working with. She has been publishing content to her hugely popular social channels since 2012. Alex has amassed a staggering number of followers specifically on her Instagram and YouTube accounts, with over 1.5 million combined, and that's including just her personal YouTube channel - not the one she shares with her fiancé! She publishes lifestyle, travel, beauty and fashion posts to her channels, and most recently travelled to Europe visiting a few of her favourite countries. We chatted with Alex recently, and she shared a few of her favourite beauty and travel tips, plus what she's looking forward to most this year. Read our interview with Alex below: Nude by Nature (NBN): Can you share a little about how you started out in terms of your YouTube channel, Instagram account, and the style of content that you produce now for all your social channels. Alex: I was working at a clothing store, helping out with their social media as well as modelling for them, and all of a sudden I started gaining my own following. I started working extremely hard at it, and was eventually able to start pursuing it full time. Nude by Nature (NBN): What do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Canadian woman should own? Alex: A really good face sunscreen or BB cream with an SPF. I think it’s important for everyone to protect their skin from the sun. You’ll thank me later, don’t worry. I also think any BB cream or foundation that is good for dry skin is important. It gets very cold here in the winter, so this is a must! Nude by Nature (NBN): What are a couple of your favourite everyday beauty hacks? Alex: SPF, ChapStick, and I use my bronzer for everything - including eyeshadow, to save time. Nude by Nature (NBN): We've been collaborating with you recently which is really great. Are you able to let us know about a few of your favourite Nude by Nature make-up products? Alex: I have been loving the Airbrush Mineral Primer lately. I've always found it hard to find a good primer, but this one keeps my make-up on for a long time and it smells amazing. I also have been using the Pressed Matte Mineral Bronzer every day to give my face the same colour as the rest of my body. It’s so natural looking. I’ve been getting a ton of questions about it! And, I love the consistency of the Mineral Finishing Veil. It's super lightweight, and let’s my skin breathe while still setting my make-up in place. Nude by Nature (NBN): Have you spotted any beauty trends that you think are going to be really big in the next year? Alex: I’ve seen a lot of designers use the 80’s make-up on the runways, so I think it’s on its way back. Not sure if I’m too keen on it because I’m a neutral gal, but I’m excited to see how others rock it! Nude by Nature (NBN): You are getting married really soon! Congratulations! How is all the planning going? Alex: Surprisingly, not as stressful as I thought! I’m super grateful about that, but I’m also not a very picky person, so I don’t need it to be a certain way. I’m just excited to walk down the aisle and marry my best friend. Nude by Nature (NBN): You just spent time travelling in Europe. Are you able to let us know about a few of the favourite places you visited? Alex: Lake Como! It was magical. Dan and I loved it so much we were thinking of doing our honeymoon there. It’s a massive lake in between the Alps, and it’s still in Italy, so you get the Italian architecture, culture and food. Best combinations ever. Nude by Nature (NBN): Do you have any tips when it comes to beauty products to pack when travelling? Alex: I always make sure to buy travel size of all my favourite beauty products so that I can pack them in my carry-on. I’m always scared to lose my luggage, so this ensures I have it with me. I try and keep it simple as well because I believe the less you do to your face, the better. I bring a cleanser, a moisturizer, make-up removing oil, and two face masks for the plane. My skin gets so dry on airplanes, so this is very important! I usually do it one hour before landing. Everyone looks at me funny, but I don’t care because I walk off that plane glowing. Nude by Nature (NBN): When you’re chilling out, what’s your favourite social media platform to scroll through? Alex: Instagram. I love photography, and I love seeing the content that people put out there! Nude by Nature (NBN): How about other blogs & social accounts/influencers that you follow and love? Alex: YouTube is second to me. I’ve been in this weird phase of watching these Mukbang type videos. I find them so fascinating, and I love the stories some people tell. But for fashion and beauty, obviously my best friend Tess Christine. She’s amazing. And I love following Negin Mirsalehi as well. Nude by Nature (NBN): Last question! Aside from your wedding, what else are you looking forward to in the next 12 months? Alex: Dan and I have been talking about trying for a baby. Big Thanks Alex! We really appreciate your time. Nude by Nature is stocked exclusively in Canada at Shoppers Drug Mart. To find the closest store to you in Canada, we have a handy Store Locator tool on our Canadian website you can use. What is Cruelty-free Make-up?
In the past five years, the interest and awareness about what cruelty-free make-up means, and therefore which cosmetics brands are certified cruelty-free has grown significantly. This has been reported here in Australia, as well as globally. Amanda Nordstrom, Company Liaison for PETA’s Beauty Without Bunnies Program, said earlier this year: "In the U.S. alone...a recent poll to our subscribers showed that 96 per cent of respondents are more likely to purchase products that display a cruelty-free logo on its label than a product that isn’t clearly labeled.”* In Australia a Roy Morgan study published in early 2017 found that 46% of Australian women who use cosmetics nominated ‘Not tested on animals’ as an important reason for their own make-up purchase selection, which was up from 41% in an earlier 2012 study. The ‘Not tested on animals’ feature rated third for this question in the study, above SPF.# Have you already been wondering if your make-up is harming animals? When it comes to the definition about what cruelty-free means in terms of cosmetics and make-up products, it is defined as when there is no form of animal testing or exploitation at any point in the creation of a brand’s products. The type of animal testing that does still occur includes trialing a finished product or specific ingredients of a finished product on animals, such as rabbits, dogs, cats and mice. With scientific methods improving every day, animal testing alternatives are stronger than ever. There are a range of alternative testing methods available that are often considered more reliable and efficient than animal tests. Here in Australia, consumer advocacy group Choice recommend looking for independent third party certification on make-up products you are considering purchasing. Three such organisations are PETA, Choose Cruelty Free and Leaping Bunny. Nude by Nature is officially cruelty-free accredited by PETA. Formally accredited brands must adhere to specific development and distribution criteria, and must also pass strict review and approval processes to prove their cruelty-free commitment and become acknowledged as genuine cruelty-free advocates. Another point that Choice made is that not all cruelty-free logos shown on products actually are official. Their advice is to look for an official third party logo, and Choice provided the below guide to use: Source: Choice For us here at Nude by Nature, we are extremely proud of our PETA cruelty-free accreditation and encourage consumers to educate themselves about the cosmetics that they are buying. This includes understanding whether brands are cruelty-free accredited; therefore supporting an end to animal testing practices. INFLUENCER PROFILE: Brooke Hogan
Gorgeous Australian model Brooke Hogan’s career went gangbusters following her time on Australia’s Next Top Model. Her modelling career has seen her work both locally and internationally since, with brands including Myer, ASOS and Lorna Jane. Cut to May 2018 where she has amassed a staggering number of Instagram followers, and she’s attending Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (MBFWA) in Sydney for the first time. We caught up with Brooke whilst in Sydney for MBFWA, and chatted all things beauty, modelling and travel. Check out our interview below: Nude by Nature (NBN): Are you able to share a little about your career background, how you started modelling, and also about your experience on Australia’s Next Top Model. Brooke: I did my first photoshoot when I was about 15 years old which was for my Mum’s friends label. After I finished schooling I started modelling and I loved it. I signed with an agency and was working a bit whilst also working an admin job. When I was about 19, (not many people know this actually), I tried out for another TV show, similar to Australia’s Next Top Model and made it through to the last round but didn’t make it on to TV. From then on I was so determined to get where I wanted to be. I tried out for Australia’s Next Top Model and finally made it through. It was an amazing experience that I will remember forever and I absolutely loved it! It was challenging at times however I made some great friends and learnt SO much. It was a big confidence booster and it really got me out of my comfort zone. Australia’s Next Top Model launched my career and I feel so lucky to have been apart of the show. Since then I have modelled internationally as well as at home and have worked for some amazing brands. I have been modelling on and off for about 10 years now and I still love my job! NBN: MBFWA is happening in Sydney this week. Do you have any shows that you are really looking forward to attending, and ideas about what you’ll be wearing yourself? Brooke: This is my first MBFWA so I am really excited to see what it’s all about! There are a few shows I am really excited for; Camilla and Marc, Bianca Spender, We Are Kindred and many others. I love seeing the creativity and effort put into each and every show, its incredible. My stylist Jess has sorted all of my outfits for me so you’ll just have to wait and see! NBN: Are there any beauty or fashion trends that you’ve spotted that you think will be big in the next 12 months? Brooke: We have seen it on the runways overseas and seen it here in Australia a little bit also but I think coloured eye shadow is going to come back in. I am not sure how I feel about it or if I will embrace the trend but it looks like blue shadow is on its way back! NBN: Speaking of beauty, what do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Aussie woman should own? Brooke: Sunscreen - it is so important to protect your face from the sun. Even though you may not see effects of the sun now, the damage done in your younger years shows as you get older. NBN: What are a few of your favourite Nude by Nature make-up products? Brooke: I am really loving the Flawless Concealer. I don’t like products that are too heavy or ‘cakey’ and I find the consistency of the Flawless Concealer is really nice and not too heavy under the eyes whilst also delivering good coverage! Also, I am terrible at my own liquid eyeliner however the Definition Eyeliner is so easy to use so I am loving that also! NBN: When it comes to saving time when getting ready, do you have any favourite beauty hacks? Brooke: I love eyeshadow that blends out and up towards the brow giving that elongated/cat-eye look. It can take some time to master it so if I am in a rush I put up a credit card or any card from the outer edge of my eye up to the end of my eyebrow and use a fluffy eyeshadow brush and use the card as a shield. NBN: When it comes to health and wellbeing, what are a few of your favourite, regular things that you love to do? Brooke: Drink lots of water and exercise. I feel and look my best when I am hydrated and active. Even if it’s not a daily ‘work out’ as such, I still make sure I get my body moving in some way - a quick walk, a stretch on the floor, anything to get my body going! Regular facials are also a must for me. With my job I am always having loads of make-up put on my skin which can sometimes cause breakouts and congestion. I take really good care of my skin and I support my everyday regime with regular facials. NBN: Traveling is a big part of your life. Do you have any favourite places in the world that you recommend to friends? Brooke: My favourite places would be the Maldives and the Amalfi Coast - in particular Capri and Positano. I was in the Maldives for work and Capri/Positano for a holiday with my boyfriend. They are SO gorgeous and should definitely be put on your list of places to visit. NBN: And for yourself...do you have anywhere that you are dreaming about traveling to? Brooke: I really want to go to Japan! NBN: When it comes to social media, what is your favourite channel to scroll through? Brooke: I really like finding random profiles and pages to follow. I don’t have certain pages that I always go and look at but I like fashion accounts, iMeme accounts and also make-up inspiration accounts. NBN: Finally, for you home is Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. If you were chatting to someone visiting either for the first time, what would be a couple of your top places you’d recommend they check out? Brooke: I love travelling, but everyone who knows me knows that I absolutely LOVE home and in particular, the Mornington Peninsula. If you are visiting Melbourne I would recommend a visit down the coast to Sorrento. My boyfriend and I are currently building our house down there. It is the most gorgeous little seaside town with, lovely beaches, delicious food, great coffee, good shopping, walks, massages and it’s only an hour and a bit out of the city. Make sure you come visit Hotel Sorrento for some food and drinks - maybe we’ll bump into each other! All images courtesy of: Brooke Hogan
INFLUENCER PROFILE: Helen Chik
Helen Chik is a Sydney based fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogger and writer. She has established herself as someone who consistently creates inspiring, vivid and beautiful content on both her blog and social channels. So far this year Helen married, traveled to Bali and become a first time Mum, which she is loving - whilst also discovering all the fun and games involved with having a newborn. It means many things in her life have changed, and time management and finding a new balance to the daily routine are both skills she is continually working on. We caught up with Helen recently, and chatted about her favourite beauty products, travel and celebrating her first Mother’s Day. Nude by Nature (NBN): Are you able to share a little about your career background, and how you came to create your blog, writing and then social presence. Do you have any words of wisdom for anyone starting out today? Helen: I actually have a double degree in Finance and Actuarial Studies and spent about two years working in banking. It became obvious after a few months that the corporate world wasn’t for me and I started looking at a passion project to keep my mind stimulated. My first foray into blogging started straight out of high school but it only lasted maybe half a year before I had to drop it and focus on my studies. Fast forward five years and I decided to start it up again and see where it would take me. I love curating content and coming up with concepts for shoots as much as I enjoy writing. It made sense for me to combine it all and start a blog. I think having consistency and a clear style is important. Don’t feel the pressure to be emulating those around you and just start. I always say this to everyone, you really have nothing to lose if you try but you stand to lose a lot more if you don’t. NBN: Since becoming a Mum earlier this year, (HUGE Congrats!!), has your beauty routine changed or evolved? What are a few of your favourite time saving hacks when getting ready in the morning? Helen: Oh my lord yes! I’d be lucky if I can get through my shower without Jacob squealing for attention. I’ve always got a few key products that I know I have to use to look even half-way presentable for anything I attend. If you have these nutted out then you save yourself the grief of looking at your beauty drawer and not knowing where to start. So my quick routine is: Prep your skin - serum, facial oil and light moisturiser Prime your skin Then cover up those blemishes with an easy foundation (like Nude by Nature’s Natural Mineral Cover) Finish off with some bronzer and highlight NBN: What do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Aussie woman should own? Helen: I think skincare is important, and I see a massive difference when I take the time to prep my skin for the day versus nothing. The make-up just doesn’t sit as nicely when you haven’t taken the time to properly hydrate your skin. Every woman needs to have a go-to foundation (powder or liquid - same same, but different) and then a great bronzer and highlighter. A bronzer brings you to life and the highlighter brings out the glow. I’m also very picky when it comes to eyeliners because you want it to go the distance. NBN: What are a few of your favourite Nude by Nature products? Helen: That's an easy one. The mineral powder foundation and the Touch of Glow Highlight Sticks! I love anything that saves me time whilst making me look natural and glowing. All you need is the Natural Mineral Cover and a little highlight and you’re ready to tackle anything; even when your baby poops all over you! Actually, no amount of makeup will prepare you for that - but you get the gist. NBN: Mother’s Day is this Sunday! How are you planning on celebrating this special day - especially as it’s your first one! Helen: Well, my husband’s twin is up in Sydney with his wife and they’ll be meeting Jacob for the first time so we’ll probably have a nice lunch. In the evening we’re actually making it all about Jacob and celebrating his 100 Day with my family and friends. It’s actually something that Asians love to do instead of a one month. NBN: MBFWA is happening in Sydney next week. Do you have any shows that you are really looking forward to attending, and ideas about what you’ll be wearing yourself? Helen: Yes! It’s that crazy time, and this year I’ve got Mother’s Day, Jacob’s 100 Day and Fashion Week all together so my head’s a little scrambled at the mo. I’m looking forward to seeing the Macgraw show as they’re always a stand out favourite of mine because of how fun they make everything. We Are Kindred has some beautiful and feminine silhouettes so I’m keen to see what they come up with too! As for what I’m wearing - I have a few things planned but nothing concrete, however you can expect to see a fair bit of colour. NBN: You love to travel! Do you have any favourite places you suggest visiting in 2018? Helen: I love South America! Even though it’s been years since I was there - I’ve been dying to head back over there so definitely add that to the list. Peru and Bolivia are my favourites so far but I’ve only done a few countries! NBN: And for yourself, what’s on your own travel bucketlist? Helen: I want to go to South Africa and the Philippines so badly! They are a priority but I would also like to head back to the US again at some point during their summer to escape our winter. NBN: Do you have any tips when it comes to beauty products to pack when travelling? Helen: I honestly think my beauty products (toiletries included) always take up the most room and weigh the most! I’ve learnt to buy myself a small make-up bag and set myself the challenge to only take make-up that fits into that bag, and no more. I used to pack so much when I travelled thinking that I should because…you never know. Well, I do know now and that’s you never end up using those products, and then you have to lug them around everywhere you go! Stick to the bare essentials is what I suggest because who has the time to go through elaborate beauty routines when they’re travelling? I’d much rather spend that time outside and exploring. NBN: When you’re chilling out, what’s your favourite social media platform to scroll through? Helen: If you had asked me two years ago I would’ve said Instagram but these days I’m on Facebook surprisingly more. However if I really wanted to relax then I’d be off my phone because I spend wayyyyyy too much time glued to it. NBN: How about other blogs and social accounts or influencers that you follow? Helen: I love following travel accounts and blogs because it always give me the inspiration to get out and explore new places! It’s a little harder now with bub but it just makes it more fun to do my research and plan. My favourite travel accounts at the moment are @nickpescetto and @meg_legs. NBN: Can you let us know any of your objectives and plans for 2018? Helen: Umm..surviving motherhood and figuring out a balance between everything! I didn’t bother setting myself goals this year because Jacob has thrown my routine out and I just plan on taking each day as it comes. NBN: Lucky last question! As a Sydney local, do you have any secret places/cafes/restaurants/sites/exercise spots that you think are quintessentially Sydney, and enjoy sharing whenever someone comes to visit? Helen: I love doing the Bondi to Coogee coastal run but you have to be game to do it because it’s a 15km return trip! In terms of cafes - The Grounds is a must because everything is so photogenic there. The Butler has a great view of the city, and is also so gorgeous inside. One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney is actually this place called Buffalo Dining Club - small and understated with amazing food! All images courtesy of Helen Chik.
Celebrate Natural Beauty this Mother’s Day
We celebrate Mother’s Day once a year, however our Mums are so special and give us so much - celebrating once a year is so little. Princess Diana is quoted as saying, “A mother’s arms are more comforting than anyone else’s.” It’s a simple statement, yet so powerful. Whether we’re two or 32 years old, there are very few people we can unreservedly seek help and advice from. It could be a call for help because you woke up with your back in a spasm, or a text to check on how long you can keep eggs in the fridge before cooking - regardless, Mum is there. Image courtesy of: @elysetaylor So, how do we spoil Mum on Mother’s Day? A day of pampering could be a winner! The word ‘pampering’ can mean so much in itself. It could be as simple as Mum’s day starts with a sleep-in followed by breakfast in bed and a big bunch of flowers. Or, is it a day off? A whole day of rest and relaxation with everyone in the family spoiling her rotten. Another way many of us celebrate our Mums is a big Sunday lunch with extended family, or a group of friends. When it comes to Mother’s Day gifts, it’s worth thinking about what Mum really loves, and perhaps wouldn’t buy for herself; thereby making the gift special and unforgettable. Is it an experience you can share together, an album full of family photos, a plant for her garden or a gift set packed full of gorgeous beauty products? If you’re veering towards the gift set option, we can help you out! We’ve just released two limited edition Mother’s Day gift sets. Each includes full-size products that feature ingredients known for their anti-ageing and skin nourishing benefits. The Best Coachella Make-up Looks
Coachella weekend one is done and dusted, and weekend two is just about to start. When it comes to Coachella, we all love to check out the amazing make-up and fashion looks people create. The make-up looks created in years gone by, and already in 2018 have generally featured bold, shimmering eyes and highlighted cheekbones perhaps accentuated with a stroke of glitter. Alternatively, many this year are choosing to create a more natural look featuring bronzer and a nude lip. As well as the looks created by people attending the first weekend at Coachella, there was one person in particular who stole the show - Beyoncé! Her five custom made Balmain outfits designed by Olivier Rousteing were absolutely spectacular, and the French fashion house also outfitted her 200 backup dancers and musicians. It was noted by fans that Beyoncé even changed her nail colour during her epic set as well! Image courtesy of: lichipan We loved the different make-up looks created by the seven influencers we sent across to Coachella, with all of the below being favourites created by each. Sydney Flawless Collection - Creative Studio Event
We were very excited to recently host a Creative Studio event at our Sydney head office with one of our favourite make-up artists Anya Spicer, beauty expert Gemma Watts and a group of beauty and lifestyle influencers. The workshop style event included a make-up tutorial with Anya and Gemma creating a natural long-wearing make-up look featuring our Flawless Collection. Anya demonstrated the recommended application process utilising the key products in our Flawless Collection; leading with our Airbrush Mineral Primer, Flawless Liquid Foundation, Buffing Brush and Flawless Concealer. Our Flawless Liquid Foundation and Flawless Concealer were launched in August 2017. If you’re looking to create a smooth, natural shine-free, satin matte finish the Flawless Liquid Foundation is a great product for you to consider using. It’s suitable for all skin types, and is ideal for people with normal to oily skin. The Flawless Liquid Foundation formula is oil free and fragrance-free, plus is buildable from a medium to full coverage. Key ingredients are Bamboo Powder, Kakadu Plum and Baobab Fruit Extract. As we all know, concealer is a product we should never leave home without! The Flawless Concealer is perfect for camouflaging dark circles, blemishes and covering skin imperfections. It’s long wearing and comes in a stick format so is super easy to apply. Like all Nude by Nature products, the Flawless Liquid Foundation and Flawless Concealer are formulated with 100% naturally derived, good for you ingredients and are cruelty-free. When it comes to applying the Flawless Liquid Foundation we recommend starting with the Airbrush Mineral Primer underneath the foundation as it creates a smooth, even base for your make-up application. Then apply a small amount of the Flawless Liquid Foundation (approx. a single pump), to the back of your hand. Apply and blend the foundation with a Buffing Brush, using quick circular motions to ensure an even application. Coverage can be built from medium to full as required. Apply the Flawless Concealer after the foundation to disguise any skin imperfections and dark circles. You can select to apply the concealer directly to the skin, use your fingertips or a Concealer Brush. All products are available to be purchased via our website. Click here to discover more. Coachella is the annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California (a short drive from Palm Springs) on two consecutive weekends across a three day period - Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It's regarded as being one of the world's biggest music and arts festivals, and tickets usually sell out within hours. This year’s headliners are pretty epic and include Beyoncé, The Weeknd plus Eminem with Australian musicians Alison Wonderland, Vance Joy and Tash Sultana also featuring. Weekend one is running from 13-15th April, and number two from 20-22nd April. The group of 7 influencers will be in Palm Springs for weekend one of Coachella from 13-15th April, and they’ll be sharing all their top moments via their social media channels. Heading to this year’s Coachella Festival are Lauren Curtis, Chloe Morello, Kasey Rayton, Holly Phillips, Li-Chi Pan, Sally-Jo Hickey and Michelle Crossan. Whether it be the festival make-up and fashion looks they’re creating per day, the pool parties they’re attending or the bands they’re watching you’ll be able to stay tuned as they post their fave festival experiences each day. Throughout the weekend all will be using 100% naturally derived cruelty-free Nude by Nature make-up creating this year's top festival make-up looks. INFLUENCER PROFILE: Kasey Rayton
Much loved Sydney based beauty influencer Kasey Rayton is well known for her edgy and creative make-up looks that she publishes to her YouTube and Instagram accounts. This April Kasey is heading to the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, where she’ll be creating vibrant and colourful festival looks for her social followers. We are proud to be sending Kasey and another six of Australia and New Zealand’s top influencers to Coachella. The group will be attending the first weekend between 13-15th April. Alongside Kasey at Coachella will be Lauren Curtis, Chloe Morello, Li-Chi Pan, Sally-Jo Hickey, Michelle Crossan and Holly Phillips. You can keep updated with all the action at Coachella via these hashtags - #nudebynatureatcoachella and #nudebynature. We met with Kasey recently, and chatted to her about Coachella and a few of her favourite beauty tricks. Nude by Nature (NBN): What style of make-up look are you thinking of creating at Coachella? Kasey: A 5kg sprinkle of glitter on top of glitter with a side of cut crease and a dash of winged liner. NBN: Which beauty essentials do you pack every time you travel? Kasey: Moisturiser and lip balm - especially when flying. It’s so important to keep your skin hydrated so you don’t feel like a dried up prune. NBN: Have you spotted any beauty trends that you think are going to be really big in 2018? Kasey: The boy beat. I saw Gina Shkeda do a video on it recently. It’s like a no makeup-makeup routine but instead of covering up your “flaws”, you accentuate them. Think flushed cheeks, bushy brows, freckles etc. It’s effortlessly stunning and I’ve been seeing so many people doing it. Minimal makeup is definitely having its moment over full coverage. NBN: What do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Aussie woman should own? Kasey: A good SPF, moisturiser and lip balm are essential. Make-up can only do so much so you have to look after your skin first and foremost. I have super sensitive skin so I like to keep my skincare minimal and stay out of the sun. NBN: What’s your favourite Nude by Nature product, and why? Kasey: The Soft Focus Illuminator is stunning on the skin even without any other makeup on! NBN: What are you looking forward to most about your trip to Coachella? Kasey: Experiencing the atmosphere of the festival and spending more time with the beautiful souls I’ll be travelling with. They’re going to make the trip magical! NBN: Are there any bands and performers that you definitely won’t miss? Kasey: I think I’m most keen to see Eminem perform. He’s just iconic, and it will be so surreal to see him in person. Might even eat some M&M’s while I watch! NBN: When you’re chilling out, what’s your favourite social media platform to scroll through? Kasey: Instagram if I’m just casually scrolling. I follow this dog Teddy who is a total doppelganger of my dog Lilly, so I’m always looking at his photos. YouTube also if I have time to sit down and relax. I lose hours of my life watching Dr. Phil YouTube videos. I’m so addicted! NBN: How about other blogs and social accounts / influencers that you follow and love? Kasey: I love Jamie Genevieve for beauty/lifestyle. She’s so edgy. And, for makeup inspo I love Melissa Spiteri. NBN: Last question! Are you able to share any of your 2018 plans that you are super excited about? Kasey: I’m going to Coachella, baby! Everything else is a blur. We think you’re going to have a brilliant time at Coachella! Thanks Kasey.
Influencer Profile: Holly Phillips
Holly Phillips is one of the lucky influencers heading to this year’s Coachella Festival. She's an up and coming Sydney based influencer with a focus on beauty and lifestyle. Holly will be enjoying a full weekend of music, parties and fun at Coachella; one of the world’s most famous music and arts festivals along with Lauren Curtis, Chloe Morello, Kasey Rayton, Li-Chi Pan, Sally-Jo Hickey and Michelle Crossan. Catch all the Coachella action between 13-15th April as Holly and her six girlfriends share their favourite festival moments using the hashtags: #nudebynatureatcoachella and #nudebynature. We chatted with Holly recently about what she’s most looking forward to this year, and also all about Coachella. Nude by Nature (NBN): Which beauty essentials do you pack every time you travel? Holly: Traveling always dries out my skin, so I try to remember to pack a moisturiser on the plane with me. The number one thing I always have when traveling, (actually even if I’m not traveling), are lip balms (yes plural) and lip glosses. I’m all about those glossy hydrated lips! NBN: What are you looking forward to most about your trip to Coachella? Holly: I’m so excited to go with the whole crew heading across. They are all such amazing people, and I cannot wait to get to know some of them even better. My aim of the trip is just to have the absolute best time with these gorgeous girls, as I know we are going to have to such a brilliant adventure! NBN: Are there any bands and performers that you definitely won’t miss? Holly: Absolutely yes! The line up this year is insane. I definitely won’t miss Eminem; he was the first concert I went to without parental supervision, and I can’t wait to see him again. I have to see Miguel too, I have never seen him live and I adore his music. There is also Kygo, Cardi B, Odesza and The Weeknd just to name a few! NBN: What make-up styles are you thinking about creating at Coachella? Holly: I’m so behind this year I have not narrowed down a specific look yet! Coachella is definitely a place to do make-up you wouldn’t necessarily do otherwise, so I really want to create fun, colourful looks. As always I love really bright and illuminating make-up, and I definitely want to add pops of colour either to my eyes or lips, probably both. I have tried Nude by Nature's Shimmering Sands Loose Eyeshadow's and I can't wait to create a few looks with them as they have such a beautiful, vibrant shine. NBN: What do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Aussie woman should own? Holly: Definitely a good BB Cream; something that is going to work with your skin and not hide it. Also, I have to add lip balm and lip-gloss, I never leave home without either of them. NBN: What’s your favourite Nude by Nature product(s), and why? Holly: With my make-up I love all things luminous; the products that will make me shine from within so my favourite product has to be the Sheer Glow BB Cream. It is such a beautiful product that allows me to create the glowy looks I love. NBN: Have you spotted any beauty trends that you think are going to be really big in 2018? Holly: I feel in 2018 a huge beauty trend is working with your own skin instead of covering it, so for me that means using products that won’t cover-up my freckles. So far I believe 2018 has been all about accepting yourself and really working with your imperfections, and realising they are beautiful. NBN: When you’re chilling out, what’s your favourite social media platform to scroll through? Holly: It has to be Instagram. I spend way too much time aimlessly scrolling through the Explore feed. Sometimes I don’t even know I’m doing it! I'll check the time, and realise an hour has gone by. Whoops! NBN: How about other blogs & social accounts / influencers that you follow and love? Holly: I have to say my best friend Sammy Robinson. She is always on the mark with every current beauty and fashion trend. Her social channels are constantly fun and interesting, and it also helps that she’s absolutely stunning! NBN: Last question! Are you able to share any of your 2018 plans that you are super excited about? Holly: I am going to Ireland to study at Dublin City University under the UTS exchange program, which I’m very excited about. I have always wanted to go on exchange. I feel that going on exchange will be one of the most exciting and fun adventures I will take in my life. I also feel that 2018 will be such an amazing year, so far it has been. Like come on, I’m going to Coachella and I am so pumped! Thanks Holly! Have a fab time in Coachella!
Influencer Profile: Sally-Jo Hickey
This year we are proud to be sending a group of Australia and New Zealand’s top beauty influencers to Coachella - one of the world’s biggest music festivals. You’ll have front row seats as each share their favourite festival moments and looks during weekend one; 12-15th April, via their social media channels and hashtags including #nudebynatureatcoachella and #nudebynature. Sally-Jo Hickey, one of New Zealand’s favourite influencers is amongst the lucky ones heading off to Palm Springs for Coachella. Sally-Jo started publishing content to her YouTube channel whilst at university, and she posts about beauty, lifestyle and fashion on her channel. In addition to Sally-Jo, you’ll also be able to enjoy Coachella with Lauren Curtis, Chloe Morello, Kasey Rayton, Holly Phillips, Li-Chi Pan and Michelle Crossan. We recently chatted with Sally-Jo about Coachella, her plans for 2018, who she follows on social media and about her top beauty tips. Nude by Nature (NBN): What are you looking forward to most about your trip to Coachella? Sally-Jo: I’m so overwhelmed with excitement it’s hard to narrow it down to one thing. Overall, I’m most looking forward to making new memories with amazing friends! I’m so lucky to be travelling over with such friendly and down to earth girls. We have plenty of photo shoots and pool parties in store. I’m definitely going to pack my Polaroid camera so that we can look back on the trip for years to come! NBN: Are there any bands and performers that you definitely won’t miss? Sally-Jo: I’m a huge fan of R&B music and am really looking forward to Post Malone. Also the fact that The Weeknd is headlining is everything! I definitely couldn’t miss out on Eminem and Cardi B - they are both incredible rappers. NBN: What make-up styles are you thinking about creating at Coachella? Sally-Jo: Coachella is a glitter-friendly zone so I will definitely be packing all kinds of gems and loose glitters for some fun cheekbone make-up. In terms of the actual base products I am going to be looking to those that are long-wearing and reliable to ensure we make it through dancing in the desert heat! I’ll be definitely packing my Nude by Nature Pressed Mattifying Mineral Veil to keep any T-Zone shine at bay. NBN: Which beauty essentials do you pack every time you travel? Sally-Jo: Always, always a sunscreen or primer with SPF. Make-up products like Nude by Nature's Sheer Glow BB Cream that have SPF already included are ideal. I’ll also never travel without a hydrating lip balm and a mascara - that way I always look fresh plus feel nice and hydrated in all the air conditioning. NBN: We’d love to know what your favourite Nude by Nature products are, and why? Sally-Jo: One of my favourites would have to be the Contour Palette. The shades are so smooth and blendable! As a fairer-skinned individual contouring can be daunting but this palette is extremely user friendly and gives me popping cheekbones every time without fail. I also HAVE to give a shout-out to the Nude by Nature Mineral Brush - my first ever true love when it came to make-up brushes. I found it when I was 15, and still use it to this day! NBN: What do you think are a couple of the most important beauty products that every Aussie/NZ woman should own? Sally-Jo: Concealer and powder! I think a lot of women forget about completing their base after moisturiser and foundation/BB cream, they are out the door. Investing in a nice concealer and setting powder really does make all the difference in how your base will perform and last throughout the day. NBN: Have you spotted any beauty trends that you think are going to be really big in 2018? Sally-Jo: I personally believe that low-coverage make-up is going to make a comeback this year. 2017 was all about the full glam (matte face and blinding cheekbone highlight), and I’m noticing a lot more balance in this season’s runway make-up thus far. By the end of the year I think we will be seeing a more subtle overall glow on the skin along with a rise in glossy sheer lip and cheek colours. NBN: When you’re chilling out, what’s your favourite social media platform to scroll through? Sally-Jo: Without a doubt, Instagram. It’s so easy to interact with my followers through IG Stories and comments, plus I love supporting my fellow influencers and seeing what projects they are up to. Also, the ‘Explore’ page is like an intriguing black hole that is both engrossing and hard to escape! NBN: How about other blogs and social accounts / influencers that you follow and love? Sally-Jo: Of course, all the girls going to Coachella. For ALL of the pretty things, I love the accounts @coco_lottie and @xxayapink - they post beautiful pics of designer bags and cute Japanese flatlays. My current makeup crush is Allana from @Allanaramaa. She always has the most perfect dewy skin and lip colours. Current lifestyle crush is Alex from @hrhcollection - I adore her home decor taste. And, of course my cutest Insta crush of all is @mavisthetuxedocat - my fur baby!! Yes, I’m that crazy cat mum! NBN: Last question! Are you able to share any of your 2018 plans that you are super excited about? Sally-Jo: I have so many exciting videos and campaigns planned this year which I can’t share just yet. You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled! I can share that I will be doing some Vlogs at Disneyland which is extremely exciting for me! I have a great feeling that 2018 will be an incredible year. Thanks so much, Sally-Jo!
